Job Description
Primary Responsibilities
Participate in design review sessions with development teams
Translate business requirements into conceptual, logical and physical models
Identify patterns and data relationships from disparate systems and model
Create and maintain corporate Data Models in the data modeling tool
Ensure conformance to corporate naming standards and data modeling methodologies
Provide guidance to enhance query and load performance
Read and interpret explain plans
Write and understand moderately complex SQL queries
Perform data profiling of source systems
Qualifications
Bachelor''s degree or equivalent experience in Data Modeling
5+ years Data Modeling experience
Experience in creation or usage of Relational Models (OLTP)
Experience in creation or usage of Dimensional Models (Kimball)
Thorough understanding of data modeling and experience in modeling techniques required
Ability to recognize and identify patterns in data relationships from disparate systems
Ability to write and understand moderately complex SQL queries and deploy DDL
Proficiency with Erwin 9 data modeling tool
Good Microsoft Office software skills
Experience with SQL Server and Oracle DBMS; experience with DB2 and Teradata preferred
Experience with source code control preferred
Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to build relationships and work with all levels of the business (team player)
Ability to multitask and manage concurrent work loads
Ability to follow established processes, as well as improve or develop new processes
Attention to detail
Ability to work with minimal supervision
