Applications Development Analyst
Location: Tallahassee, FL
Long Term
Responsibilities:
Develop new applications and perform new services for the UPMIS system using JAVA and .NET programming language experience. •
Work with application users to gather business requirements. •
Lead and advise Department staff on modernising existing applications without restructuring source code. •
Manage and document application life cycles. •
Mentor the IT staff on JAVA and .NET development tools. •
Provide system analysis, design, and programming support, and/or implementation support for applications. •
Provide application and technical documentation as required by the IT. •
Provide fully tested and commented application code or configuration implemented in the production environment. •
Transfer to the IT staff the knowledge necessary to maintain applications, including technical knowledge related to the UPMIS system, as determined by IT. •
Requirements:
Minimum Experience:
Proven ability to communicate effectively (verbally and in writing) with technical and user staff Demonstrated experience working with users to gather and document business requirements – 8+ years
Demonstrated experience leading and mentoring a development team – 4+ years
Demonstrated experience with architecture and developing database driven web-based applications – 8+ years
Demonstrated experience with architecture and developing database driven applications using Eclipse IDE – 8+ years
Demonstrated experience with architecture and developing database driven applications using Microsoft Visual Studio – 8+ years
Demonstrated experience with Microsoft SQL Server through 2008 and DB2 – 8+ years
Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Team Foundation Server – 6+ years
Demonstrated experience with Business Objects – 5+ years.
Preferred Experience:
Experience with Control-M, NetDMS, and Windows Task Scheduler;
Familiarity, expertise, and experience with SCRUM.
