1. Duties and responsibilities
SCOPE OF WORK, RESPONSIBILITIES, AND DESCRIPTION OF THE PROPOSED ANALYTICAL WORK
Under the general supervision of the Chief, Global Service Desk of the Office of Information
Management and Technology (OIMT), the Information Management Associate (IMA) is to provide daily
technical support for users of information management tools and technology infrastructure in UNDP’s
Crisis Response Unit (CRU) and Regional Bureau for Latin America and the Caribbean (RBLAC The
incumbent must be competent in the technical aspects of information systems and productivity tools,
end user support, training, implementation, and effective change management. System support
includes both corporate and user area specific technology environments. The IMA should ensure
availability of the technology environment and is also responsible for the review and advice on the use
of technologies that will enhance the assigned units’ productivity.
This assignment is a white glove service to promote unit level productivity with SharePoint hosted
applications, Office 365 and Video conferencing tools. IMA candidates must demonstration past
experience in increasing unit level and end-user productivity.
The key tasks and responsibilities include but not limited to:
· Ensuring compliance with corporate information management and technology standards,
guidelines and procedures for the unit's technology environment
· Provides strong customer service and interpersonal skills as demonstrated with ability to
work well in a team environment
· Problem resolution and support for all network and desktop related matters by working with
OIMT support groups help as dictated. Opens, tracks, and closes tickets and ensures proper
ownership
· Installation and configuration of UNDP’s ICT standard hardware/software
· Implementing and maintaining security measures, including anti-virus measures, Operating
System and Application security patches in accordance with THE CLIENT standards
· Preparing hardware/software requirement and specification for CRU and RBLAC
· Designing and conducting training on THE CLIENT standard computing and productivity tools
· Collaborating with Information Systems and Technology staff and IMAs from other units in
supporting corporate software and hardware systems
· Premium Business IT system support
a. Solid understanding of SharePoint and Office 365
i. Modern sites, pages, lists, and libraries
ii. Nimex Workflow
iii. Troubleshooting & bug error fix
iv. Application user support by answering questions from users
v. Support unit SharePoint based applications
b. Video Conference full support (start to finish)
THE CLIENT end-user community relies heavily on reliable, secure and highly available Information and
Communication Technology solutions to communicate within the organization, with donors,
programme countries and other entities. The computer, network and productivity tools are needed to
provide secure and reliable services and communication tools to UNDP. IMA is responsible and
accountable for ensuring that the ICT tools and utilities in the designated business unit meet the
functional needs of ICT user. Errors in this function and failure to resolve issues with ICT facilities in a
timely manner have a severe impact on the staff’s ability to deliver services to the organization’s clients.
2. Required Skills and Experience
Certification/training qualifications:
· University degree or equivalent technical certification
· Certification in A+ or MCP is required; MCSE and CCNA certification are added advantages
Years of experience:
Required:
· Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in Microsoft network administration;
· Excellent experience and knowledge in Microsoft Windows 7, 8.1 and 10 deployment
· Microsoft Office O365 tools for collaboration and productivity
· Hands on experience in problem identification and resolution of industry standard hardware
platform
· Worked in a IT end user support environment – 2 years
· Good interpersonal skills and ability to interact effectively with users
Desired:
· Solid understanding of SharePoint On-Premises and Office 365 tools.
· Skills in collobration facilities such as email (Outlook), Audio and Video conference
facilities/equipment – Skype for Business and Polycom
· Microsoft Office O365, Symantec Antivirus Software
· Experience in SharePoint application development and end user support
Added advantage:
Meaningful experience in developing workflows using Nintex Workflow
Meaningful experience in creating forms using InfoPath
Relevant experience in creating work flows using Nintex Workflow
