JOB DESCRIPTION
This Senior DevOps Network Engineer will work with the global infrastructure and digital network to develop, automate and orchestrate network systems and services for the entire company. These data networks include data centers (DC), private & public clouds, local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), and wireless networks. This Senior DevOps Network Engineer must have advanced skills to analyze where communications are going to be needed, create plans for the network, be up-to-date on the latest networking, automation and virtualization technology, and understand and determine the system design needs for IT products and services.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Must have at least 4 years of experience as a network or DevOps engineer
3+ years of experience in Python, PERL, Go or similar development environment
Experience with other OOP programming languages is a plus
Experience with REST API development and consumption
Good working knowledge of relational databases is required
ADDITIONAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Very good knowledge of the TCP/IP network stack (including UDP)
Very good knowledge of web-related protocols (HTTP, TLS, DNS)
Experience working with configuration management software such as Ansible (preferred), BMC Network Automation (BNA), Salt, Puppet, etc.
Experience with presentation layer development using HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, JQuery and popular SPA frameworks such as AngularJS.
Proficient understanding of code versioning tools such as Git.
Commitment to automate repetitive tasks.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills (English)
Work in close coordination with engineers and analyst stakeholders to translate requirements into technical design
A Customer-first team player, experienced in working in intercultural and geographically dispersed teams
Actively contributes to the establishment and compliance of development processes
Produces high quality technical documentation to document processes, procedures, configurations, and deployment plans
Must be available to work off-hours project implementation schedules and on-call rotations
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
Two or more years using Agile and DevOps practices
Experience with infrastructure automation, infrastructure as code, automated application deployment, monitoring/telemetry, logging, reporting/dash board development, and continuous delivery technologies.
Experience with event driven infrastructure (EDI) practices and systems
System administration experience; Linux preferred, Windows a plus
Experience with Virtualization (VMWare, OpenStack, Docker, Vagrant) is a plus
Experience with web frameworks
Familiarity with best practices for responsive, user-centered design
Strong unit test and debugging skills
Experience integrating with Cloudforms, Openstack, OpenShift, vRealize is a plus
Experience with backend services such as Celery, Redis, RabbitMQ and Elasticsearch, Splunk, including setup, administration, scaling and monitoring
Experience with build management and continuous integration tools (such as Jenkins, Travis, GitLab, Tower, etc
