Pfizer is an industry leader in biosimilars development, with 3 on-market assets, 8 assets in late stage development/ submission stage, and 6 assets in early stage development. The Biosimilars Clinical Development organization is a rapidly growing function that is critical to the delivery of 6 major submissions in 2017 and 2018.

This 1 year secondment position will play a critical role in partnering with the VP, Biosimilars Clinical Development Lead & Leadership Team to establish and maintain a high performing function that will be equipped to deliver the clinical aspects of the biosimilars portfolio.

The successful candidate will bring experience and acumen in Clinical Development and Project Management to bear, including the ability to create a framework for effective and efficient operations, communications, governance and issue management. .


Organizational Relationships:
Administratively, reports to PEH R&D PPM Head

Strong accountability to VP, Biosimilars Clinical Development Lead

Works closely with
Biosimilars PPM Team, including Submission Planners & Portfolio Director
Biosimilars Clinical Development Leaders

Resources Managed (budget and FTEs):
No direct reports; will rely heavily on matrix management to execute job responsibilities

Primary Duties:
Support for organizational development & team effectiveness, including
Development and implementation of team norms around communication, decision-making, and issue escalation
Alignment with partners to ensure clarity of accountabilities
Documentation and reinforcement of the operating framework, including
Develop, clarify & educate staff on BU/Biosimilars operating processes (e.g., governance, decision rights, team structure and function)
Develop and/or reinforce venues and structure for within-line and cross functional line interactions
Reinforce interactions with Biosimilars governance and cross-functional Asset and Submission teams.
Support key processes such as the Annual Operating Plan
Support, track and document Clinical Development assignment flexibility and fungibility.
Develop and optimize mechanisms for ensuring productive partner line relationships
Establish and/or improve practices and processes to ensure delivery, including
venues or processes to ensure operational oversight of deliverables
development of management reporting on key deliverables
performance metrics
?Support key team interactions and communications, as needed, such as LT meetings, all-hands meetings/Town Halls, and trainings; work with department AP to develop effective systems for information sharing (e.g. SharePoint site)

Training & Education Preferred:
Minimum requirement: Bachelor’s degree.
Advanced Degree in Science or Business preferred
10 years experience in Clinical Operations or Development Project Management

Prior Experience Preferred
Demonstrated success in negotiating in an environment of a highly matrix-based organization to deliver complex projects and initiatives
Strong track record meeting personal and team goals
Proven record of implementing projects and process improvements
Strong Pfizer network, knowledge of Pfizer systems, operational and clinical processes, preferably with recent experience (within the past 2 years)
