Position: Senior SQL Server Database Administrator
Duration : Fulltime
Location : Detroit, MI

Job Summary:
The primary responsibilities will be to perform normal Database Administration (DBA) support activities for database environments running in production and test environments and have the greatest possible reliability and performance. This will include performing database Backups, Recovery, Reorgs, Unloads, Load, database monitoring/tuning, supporting production migrations, and debugging application issues for moderate to somewhat complex systems. Individual will also work closely with development teams to create and maintain our database environments and perform refreshes of database environments to support application testing. Key Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, administer, and maintain policies and procedures for ensuring the security and integrity of the company database.
Contribute to tactical planning and building in-depth annual business plans, writing documentation, following procedures and supporting other team members.
Write database documentation, including data standards, procedures and definitions for data dictionaries.
Develop the design of redundant systems, policies, and procedures for disaster recovery to ensure effective availability, protection, confidentiality of data, and integrity of data assets.
Keep management apprised of progress on assigned databases, issues resolved, perceived issues, maintenance requirements or other statuses as requested.
Effectively identifying, managing, and mitigating risks connected to our data center.
Developing methods for integrating different databases and customizing corporate databases to fit specific needs
Developing and implementing physical data models
Monitoring and optimizing database performance
Communicates and monitors compliance with existing practices
Facilitate communication with internal staff as well as external vendors and is a point of contact for external vendors.
Provides work guidance and support to less experienced staff members.
Maintains state-of-the-art technologies and methodologies.
Responsible for the performance, integrity and security of corporate databases
Ensure quality data creation, presentation, and data flow within our systems

Minimum Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related degree with computer classes or equivalent experience.
Minimum of five (5) years’ SQL technologies and SQL server environments.
In-depth experience with SSIS and SSRS server-based report generation and data integration applications.
Established proficiencies in documentation and diagramming skills.
Evidence of log shipping, database mirroring and replication skills.
Proven organization and planning skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects independently.
Evidence of the pursuit of newest and state-of-the-art technologies and methodologies.
Demonstrated ability to work with various levels of colleagues and the public, from top management to new hires.
Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
