Develop, test, and deploy automated and scalable data ingest framework for our weather service.
Work collaboratively with an agile team of data scientists that embraces best practices and modern tools (Git, Jira/Stash, Jenkins) for development.
Collaborate with data scientists to integrate scientific algorithms and data with server side logic.
Produce high quality code and libraries and constantly address technical debt.
Support your code with automated unit and integration tests.

Qualifications:
BA/BS in computer science or related technical field.
Minimum 3 years experience with Python (including pandas)
Minimum 1 year experience with Clojure, Java, or another JVM-based language.
Experience with AWS or similar distributed architecture (EC2, S3, SQS, etc
Experience with version control systems. Git is preferred.
Experience with geospatial data is a plus.

As a Research Software Engineer you will be responsible for building a new generation of connected systems, devices and information. You will partner with hardware and software engineers to build real-time distributed scalable systems. You will be responsible for ensuring our systems meet the performance needs of a fast-paced research organization while protecting Monsanto''s IP and FTO by utilizing industry proven and standard security patterns as well as driving the creation of new standards and patterns where they do not yet exist. You will work on a team to drive technology decisions (tools, protocols, languages, devices) for platforms that do not have a parallel in industry. The platforms you build will be used to accelerate and streamline the R&D pipeline for researchers across the globe. Requires a degree or 3-5 years experience in field or related area.
