Position Description

The Software Engineer (UI Designer) provides Web design and front end development support for the Enterprise Portal systems computing environment. The successful candidate will also provide best practices User Experience (UX) analysis and User Interface (UI) design for various Enterprise Portal system releases.

Role and Responsibilities

Full lifecycle of Responsive design: content-first design, information architecture, wireframes, Photoshop components and in-browser prototypes, to provide end-to-end dynamic, database driven design flows.
Develop and maintain the Enterprise Portal CSS (with SASS) framework
Constructs pages in HTML and CSS (with SASS), with coding around templating languages or within CMS systems.
Designs, develops, and analyzes highly complex software programs for computer based systems.
Reviews completion and implementation of technical products.
Provide best practices of human factors and ergonomics, particularly in a graphical user interface (GUI) environment

Required Education and Experience

Bachelor''s degree
A minimum of 6 years’ experience in web design and front end development using HTML, XHTML, CSS, and Java Scripts
A minimum of 6 years’ experience User Experience (UX) and User Interface (UI) Design for dynamic, database driven web sites and Content Management Systems (CMS)
A minimum of 6 years of experience producing site maps and wireframes, and designing information architecture (IA)
Working knowledge of user centered design (UCD) patterns and best practices, 508 compliance and accessibility.
Experience with Node.js, less/grunt
Experience in using testing frameworks such as Jasmine, Karma etc.
Experience in front-end technologies, such as HTML5, and CSS3
Working knowledge of GIT or an equivalent
Proven experience in development lifecycle processes and best practices
Experience with legacy systems and platforms very useful.
Knowledge of common browser incompatibilities and quirks. Cross-browser testing.
A minimum of 6 years of experience working with delivery assurance and/or industry standard
Work with Business Analysts, Web Designers, Developers, and Testers to ensure that user experience issues are a focus from project initiation through post-delivery
Maintain best practice knowledge of user experience issues and trends
Respond to ad-hoc requests for Usability experience issues
Analyze available Enterprise Portal usage metrics for trends, patterns, issues, and opportunities for UX optimization

Desired Education and Experience

Bachelor''s degree in information system or related field preferred; or equivalent years of education and experience
Experience in the Healthcare industry such as Eligibility, Enrollment or Claims
Experience in consulting to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS)
