Job Description:
Sr. Systems Administrator, utilizing VMWare 5.5 on a Windows OS environment
who’s very strong technically but has Leadership and Operational skills with excellent communication
skills that can work in an Agile Environment.
· Responsible for building and maintaining a global Windows infrastructure consisting of over 250
VMS’s across 17 locations
· Plan for the growth of the infrastructure, maintaining existing systems, and proactively
researching and implementing new products as needed.
· Manage a server infrastructure with machines running Windows Server 2008, 2008 R2, 2012,
and 2012 R2
· Administer VMware vSphere infrastructure and Hosted Guest Machines from Windows based
administration tools, such as the vSphere client and PowerCLI
· Document Standard Operating Procedures for troubleshooting.
· Develop automation using PowerShell Scripting to automate repetitive tasks in the client
environments.
· Identify and develop monitoring checks needed to ensure the stability of client infrastructure.
· Investigate issues with Enterprise Communication and Collaboration technologies, such as
· Exchange, SharePoint, and Lync a plus
· Manage a backup architecture using software such as NetBackup or Tivoli a plus
· Identify recurring issues and drive automated resolution behind them
· Respond to issues involving supported environments which include mission critical trading
systems and applications
· Responsible for testing and implementing and documenting all new components of our
Windows Infrastructure
· In-depth knowledge of Windows Server 2008/2012 R2 and Windows 7 or above. This includes
Active Directory, Group Policy, Kerberos, and LDAP.
Required education:
· Bachelor39;s
Required experience:
· VMWare 5.5
· Server Engineering:7 years, Windows OS, Exchange 2003/2007/2010
· AD 2003/2008/2008R2
· SCCM
· DFS
· SANS; Commvault , EMC
· Leadership experience is a plus.
· Lync Server 2010
· Liaise with Stakeholders understand operations and client needs
· Design and implement solutions
· Office 365, OCS 2007 R2
