JOB DESCRIPTION :

This person manages the day-to-day administration of all database and reporting systems. This individual is responsible for programming, debugging, tuning, and developing all MS SQL, MySQL, and MS Reporting services. This individual ensures that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to I.T. department uptime and performance standards.



This individual is also responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing Reports including reporting policies and procedures and database updates and maintenance to ensure the integrity and availability of reports, databases and their accompanying software.



Responsibilities




Install, maintain, upgrade and configure MS SQL and MySQL
Manage and develop Microsoft SQL reporting system
Manage and develop MS SQL and MySQL queries, procedures, functions, and indexing
Manage all ETL to include SSIS, Linux bash scripts, and other data migration operations.
Manage ASP Runner sites
Report to IT Director
Seek to simplify and optimize existing infrastructure, as well as consult with the IT Director on how systems should evolve to meet new business initiatives.
Monitor database system details within the database, including stored procedures and execution time, and implement efficiency improvements.
Monitor, optimize and allocate physical data storage for database systems.
Plan and coordinate Report Services, ASP Runner and SQL updates between systems.
Establish appropriate end-user database access control levels.
Manage and/or provide guidance to junior members of the team.




Position Requirements




College diploma or university degree in the field of computer science and 3-5 years equivalent work experience.
Experienced in SQL Server 2000, 2005, 2010, 2012 DTS/SSID and ETL
Experience with Procedures, Functions, and Indexing
Strong understanding of database structures, theories, principles, and practices.
Working technical experience with designing, building, installing, configuring and supporting SQL database servers.
Hands-on database tuning and troubleshooting experience.
Project management experience.
Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.
Good written and oral communication skills.
