Role: Android Mobile Developer (SE2) Digital Platform
Location: Plano, Texas
Duration: Long Term
Role Responsibilities:
Build new and innovative product features
Maintain high level performance quality
Rapidly fix bugs and solve problems
Collaborate with designers and engineers alike
Write clean, stable, unit-tested code and accompanying documentation where needed
Candidates must:
Have passion to design, build and polish great, simple, fun mobile applications
Be driven to succeed & be self-motivated with the ability to work with little supervision or hand-holding
Be comfortable working independently and owning product features from start to finish
Required Knowledge and Experience:
4+ years of programming experience in Java
3+ years of Android mobile application development
Experience working with remote data via REST and JSON
At least 2 published applications in the Google Play Store available for immediate download and review by our team
BA/BS degree in Computer Science, related technical field or equivalent practical experience
Passionate about solving customer problems with innovative mobile solutions
Knowledge of Android UI frameworks, MVP application design and complex, reactive touch based UI
Experience with the Android SDK performance tools and optimization techniques
Solid foundation in computer science, with strong competencies in data structures, algorithms and software design optimized for embedded systems
Experience working in a team development environment
Experience working in an Agile development environment
Experience with task planning and estimating effort
Appreciate great design and thrive in a creative environment
Experience detecting and correcting memory usage issues as well as optimizing code for application performance
Unit-test code for robustness, including edge cases, usability and high reliability
Bonus points:
Retail ecommerce experience
Development experience with other mobile platforms (e.g. iOS)
Experience with BLE and Arduino
Experience with game development
Agency experience
Ability to develop APIs is a big plus
