Our client, one of the largest distributors of natural gas in the northeast US, serving customers in NY, MA, and RI seeks an accomplished Commercial Finance Assistant.

Description:
The Finance & Value team is responsible for the creation of financial transparency through the implementation of a robust internal financial control environment that will provide assurance around the reliability of financial reporting and provide high quality financial KPI’s to support the decision making and the governance needs of the IS Leadership
You’ll be part of the Financial Control and Process Efficiency team which plays a vital role in helping us plan and deliver cost transparency from complex data analysis and review.
Your focus will be to support the Finance and Value team on ownership of assigned problems and driving a thorough analysis of data to aid the businesses we support in making decisions on services that we provide.
Assist in the future enhancements of dashboards that are currently in use, by having regular contact and feedback sessions with Service Owners and being at the forefront of ensuring that the dashboards are relevant.
Analyze data and activities to provide relevant and up to date information to support decision-making.
Proactively research, produce, monitor and analyze cost, policy or other information to enable analysis of key themes and trends.
Develop and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders in order to share best practice, provide technical advice and build bases of influence
Undertake ad hoc research and present findings in a manner appropriate to the audience.
Through stakeholder engagement, understand what information customers need to make informed business decisions, and to assist in retrieving and presenting that information clearly and reliably.
Maintain management information for the Finance and Value team, including hub and KPI material.
Monitoring and provide proactive intervention on issues with current tooling.
Providing general support to Finance Manager on specific initiatives.
The Commercial Operation team is Global and operates out of the UK and US.
The Finance Manager will be supported by a Data Modeler as well as a Finance Assistant and will be located in the UK (Warwick The Finance Manager will be travelling to the US to support the Finance Assistant.
The Commercial Operations team operates Monday to Friday during working hours.

Requirements:
Have a university or college degree in a relevant discipline, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Excellent organizational skills and a self-motivated deliverer – able to manage own work to deadlines.
Have relevant experience that has required analytic skills and attention to detail.
Have some knowledge or experience in working in a commercial team.
Flexible and pragmatic attitude to work, happy to support others to achieve team goals.
Good experience and understanding of office systems including SAP, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and SharePoint.
Strong analytical skills with ability to analyze information and make decisions/assist the decision making process.
Ability to present and communicate findings in PowerPoint.
Commercial focus – good understanding of cost and value drivers.
Must be able to work independently and to be effective in planning and managing activities across multiple communities, under pressure, with have an aptitude for driving issues through to appropriate resolution.
Strong relationship building skills and ability to connect with people at all levels of the business and across multiple business units to influence stakeholders to align with business objectives [Demonstrate tact and diplomacy].
Ability to analyze and discuss issues across multiple internal teams and Ecosystem partners, including the ability to convert technical issues into accurate business language for briefings.
Excellent organization, administrative and communication skills.
