Our client, a major airline operating an extensive international and domestic flight network and providing one of the largest cargo networks in the world, seeks an accomplished Senior Project Manager.
Description:
Responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating activities for multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
Applicants for this job posting will be considered for the Project Manager position on the Flight Attendant Tablet team and other initiatives within Operations Technology.
Function at the highest skill level in project management planning, scheduling, and controlling of project activities to meet objectives.
Track performance, cost, and time goals while maintaining project scope.
Develop project plans specifying goals, strategy, staffing, scheduling, identification of risks, contingency plans, and allocation of available resources.
Identify and schedule project deliverables, milestones, and required tasks. Ensure Agile development team adheres to Agile best practices.
Act as Project Lead / Scrum Master, while leading Agile ceremonies including Daily Stand-ups, Iteration Planning, Release Planning, Demos, retrospectives, etc.
Coordinate activities to ensure project progresses on schedule and within budget. Track and resolve project risks and issues.
Responsible for creating and managing project budgets. Serves as the finance point of contact for projects. Work under minimal supervision.
Use business analysis techniques for gathering and documenting requirements, scoping, interviewing, facilitation, system component design, spend tracking, testing, and implementation.
Interact with leadership to help set project direction and determine project prioritization.
Work collaboratively with customer and user groups, technical leads, development resources, engineers and architects, and external project teams.
Provide project status reports according to the information needs of the stakeholders including, at times, executive level staff.
Requirements:
5+ years of experience managing large IT software development projects using structured PM and System Development methodologies/practices with project planning tools.
Thorough knowledge of IT project life cycles, particularly SDLC.
Agile development methodology.
Broad experience in a variety of computing platforms (mobile, client/server, etc.
Certification in Project Management by a recognized project management organization (such as the Project Management Institute
Strong experience gathering and documenting complex system requirements, technical specifications, and developing detailed system diagrams.
Experience managing project financials is strongly preferred.
Experience and a full understanding of failover/failback, disaster recovery and mirroring concepts is preferred.
Experience delivering mission-critical applications in a high-availability environment is preferred.
Experience delivering in-house and commercial off-the-shelf applications is preferred.
Broad understanding of crew operations or flight operations processes is preferred.
PMP certification is a plus.
Some travel domestically and internationally may be required.

Ability to handle and track multiple projects simultaneously. Effectively prioritize projects and manage changes and customer expectations. Ability to motivate software development teams.
