KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop HTML5 help applications, CSS, and skins in MadCap Flare. Single-source output to marketing-approved user guides, create and maintain installation guides in Framemaker, and work in an Agile development environment.
Facilitate new product design meetings and Agile/Scrum backlog refinement sessions.
Create/refine design specifications requirements and/or user stories as necessary.
Have the ability to quickly learn and become a subject matter expert for a large number of software applications associated with the legal industry
Explain new features to quality assurance, training, and technical support.
Work closely with software engineers to ensure the business requirements for the user interface are comprehensive, consistent, and detailed.
Step through newly developed features and existing instruction to ensure documentation follows design specifications and is correct.
Work with a style guide to ensure consistency across applications.
Minimum Qualifications:
Four-year college degree in English, Technical Writing or related discipline.
Five plus years of experience technical writing.
Excellent written and verbal skills.
Highly proficient with Madcap Flare, MadPak Professional Suite, Framemaker, and Word.
Ability to update, create, and maintain ASP and HTML web pages.
Ability to architecture single-sourced help applications, CSS, skins, and context sensitive help links in MadCap Flare.
High level of technical aptitude, for example, a conceptual understanding of databases, experience working across domains in a network environment, experience working with alpha releases on virtual machines or experience documenting how applications function in The Cloud.
Experience working with Agile/Scrum teams.
Ability to distill various sources of information (notes from meetings, documents from developers, personal testing, etc into user stories and acceptance tests.
Ability to capture and edit user interface screens.
Experience working with defect tracking software.
Experience working at a software development company.
Experience documenting client-server applications a plus.
Experience with IIS configuration and SQL Server a plus.
Strong interpersonal skills, including demonstrated track record for building relationships and effectively communicating across multiple departments that have varying levels of technical expertise.
