Position: Hyperion Financial Planning Administrator
Location: Carlsbad, CA
Duration: 6 Months
Description:
The Hyperion Financial Lead will serve as the lead administrator of Hyperion Financial Planning System. Primary responsibilities will be facilitating all activities related to financial forecasting within the system, as well as ensuring that the system contains relevant, reliable, and actionable data – including both actuals and forecasts.
In order to support current user needs, and coordinate/design/execute future state requirements, while maintaining a stable planning system, this role will require a heavy blend of technical expertise and communication skills. Proven ability to communicate effectively, a financial background, and knowledge of Hyperion Planning Administration are highly desired.
Key member of a small team responsible for the maintenance and administration of financial forecasting systems including Hyperion Planning, Essbase, HFM, and FDM.
Ensuring relevant data is available within the planning system. This includes making sure that actuals during the close process are available in the system in a timely manner, and that they are complete and accurate, as well as making sure that forecast scenarios and versions have the required initial user data.
Keeping updated documentation of business processes and developing training material for end-users of planning system.
Providing systems solutions to the system users’ needs that maximizes the efficiency of planning/budgeting/forecasting/close processes.
Working with internal business partners to define future state requirements and requested improvements, including establishing deliverables and a path and timeframe to those deliverables.
Aiding management in any decision making related to integrating new data into the planning system.
Maintaining the planning system hierarchies, load/calculation scripts, and substitution variables. Reconciling planning system data vs. other financial systems.
Continuously improve the system by identifying and implementing ways to increase efficiency, accuracy, and maintainability.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of experience in financial and management reporting systems.
Experience with Hyperion Planning, Essbase, HFM, EDW/COGNOS, FDM, ERPs, and relational databases – Hyperion Planning Admin knowledge is highly desired (load rules, calc scripts, member creation, hierarchy maintenance, etc.
Proficient with MS Excel (Pivot tables, logic formulas, vlookups, etc.
Finance background with the ability to understand complex financial models.
Data mining experience with ability to analyze datasets and draw meaningful conclusions.
Experience in supporting global stakeholders and large end user community base.
Experience with complex system integration projects.
Ability to interact with all levels of personnel including senior management.
