Description:
The Senior Project Manager position presents an opportunity for a qualified candidate to further enhance their leadership skills, apply proficiency in project and program management to effectively manage large, highly complex programs, demonstrate versatility, and cultivate financial acumen as well as an overall understanding of Client’s business.
This highly visible position interacts with all levels of the organization. The candidate must have a proven track record in project management, strong leadership and communication skills with diverse audiences, and the ability to approach issues from both detailed and strategic perspectives.
Critical to this role is the ability to translate complex strategy into actionable objectives and effectively drive cross-functional teams, advocate for client positions throughout the project lifecycle, as well as facilitate and influence corporate decision-making processes.
Primary responsibilities include leadership of multi-faceted, cross-functional, global projects and programs, as well as mentoring less experienced project managers.
The PMO leads a wide breadth of projects, such as New product introductions (NPI) and tech transfers, Large capital projects, Significant process related improvements (i.e., next generation product introductions), Operational Excellence initiatives (e.g., business process improvements, supplier relationship initiatives, etc.
Under minimal guidance, the candidate must manage all aspects of his/her projects, including planning, budget, schedule, risk, and communications. Responsibilities involve executive presentations, resource estimations and management, optimization of cross-functional and cross-site team performance, project execution and implementation, assessment, collection and sharing of lessons learned, and close-out.
NPI and tech transfer projects often include planning and implementation of change controls, acquisition of lab and manufacturing equipment, management of controlled document creation and revisions, planning and oversight of automation programming/testing and analytical method transfers/validation, and planning and execution of engineering and process performance qualification manufacturing runs.
The team member will partner closely with workstream leads from Manufacturing, Quality, Validation, Facilities and Engineering, Automation, EHS, and Process Development to execute projects.
In addition to project-related responsibilities, this team member will engage in organizational development activities within the PMO. His/her role may include development and delivery of training and/or project management tools. It may also include working to enhance the PMO’s interface with client groups in order to better understand clients’ business needs and improve the ways in which PMO supports them.

Requirements:
Doctorate degree in Engineering or Scientific field and 2 years of directly related experience OR Master''s degree in Engineering or Scientific field and 6 years of directly related experience OR Bachelor''s Degree in Engineering or Scientific field and 8 years of directly related experience OR Associated Degree in Engineering or Scientific field and 10 years of directly related experience OR High School diploma/GED & 12 years of directly related experience.
3 or more years of functional lead experience within Engineering, Manufacturing, Process Development, or Quality.
2 or more years of formal project management experience.
Strong knowledge of biotech manufacturing processes and/or Client information systems. Strong project management and leadership skills.
Proven Experience leading large cross-functional teams delivering significant process improvements and/or NPI/tech transfer.

Preferred Qualifications:
Project management professional (PMP) certification.
